Breast Surgery Procedure Information
Breast enlargement is done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. A small incision is made under the breast and a saline or silicone gel implant is inserted under the breast tissue or under the breast tissue and the underlying muscle.
The patient goes home in a regular bra. Initial discomfort is controlled with oral medication. Sutures will dissolves and do not need to be removed. A Steri-Strip or tissue glue will cover your incision for 10 days. Light activities can be resumed as tolerated. In 2 weeks, lower body weights and walking as exercise may be resumed. All other activities, including upper body weight lifting, may be resumed after 4 weeks.
The specific risks and the suitability of breast enlargement for a given individual can be determined only at the time of consultation. All surgical procedures have some degree of risk. Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally. Major complications are extremely rare.
