Finance Manager - Dr.Baker Eg

Summary: Dr.Baker Eg is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead our finance function, ensure accurate and timely reporting, and support data‑driven decisions in a fast‑growing food manufacturing/retail environment. You will own budgeting, cash flow, cost control, and compliance while acting as a key business partner to operations, supply chain, and senior management.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) in line with Egyptian accounting standards and internal reporting deadlines.
• Own the annual budget process and rolling forecasts, consolidating inputs from sales, operations, and other departments and providing clear variance analysis and commentary.
• Monitor daily cash flow, working capital, and bank positions; proactively manage liquidity, collections, and payments to ensure the business can meet its obligations and growth plans.
• Establish, maintain, and improve internal controls over purchasing, inventory, cash, and fixed assets to reduce risk, waste, and leakage.
• Design and deliver regular management reports and dashboards (sales profitability, product margins, store/branch performance, cost KPIs) with actionable insights for senior management.
• Partner with production, supply chain, and commercial teams to analyse product costing, standard vs. actual costs, and opportunities to improve gross margin.
• Supervise and develop the finance and accounting team (accountants, cashiers, storekeepers), ensuring accurate postings, reconciliations, and timely month‑end close.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, supplier statements, and payroll calculations; ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banks; coordinate annual audits and ensure timely resolution of audit queries.
• Ensure full compliance with Egyptian tax laws (income tax, VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax, social insurance) and file all returns accurately and on time.
• Participate in and financially evaluate key business decisions (new branches, product launches, CapEx, supplier contracts) using NPV, payback, and sensitivity analysis where appropriate.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives in finance processes, systems, and controls (e.g., ERP utilisation, automation of reports, reduction of manual spreadsheets).

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognised university.
• Minimum 7–8 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, including at least 2–3 years in a Finance Manager or Senior Accountant role.
• Previous experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, retail, or a similar high‑volume, inventory‑intensive environment.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian Accounting Standards, local tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Hands‑on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, including consolidation of multi‑branch or multi‑cost‑centre budgets.
• Proficiency in using ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, or similar) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic modelling).
• Proven track record in cash flow management, working capital optimisation, and bank relationship management.
• Solid understanding of cost accounting and product costing, including standard costing, overhead allocation, and margin analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and develop small finance teams, including task allocation, coaching, and performance follow‑up.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate numbers into clear business insights and recommendations for non‑financial stakeholders.
• High level of integrity, ethics, and discretion when dealing with financial information and confidential data.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic, with the ability to prepare clear reports and communicate confidently with management and external parties.
